Job Description

A leading destination management company with 29 locally managed offices across the continent. Passionate about delivering travel services solely responsible to the needs of our clients, while conserving the integrity of the environment in which we work and live.

The role is preferably based out of Bangkok regional office or at their Singapore office. Reports to to the Head of Purchasing. Frequent traveling is required.

1. JOB PURPOSE

Deliver a centralised solution for Land Supplier by pro-actively developing and managing a business

critical network of products and service providers in the sub-region assigned. As owner of the

relationships and a single point of contact for hotels, Destination Managment Companies ( DMCs)

and other land suppliers on behalf of dnata travel and its affiliate travel businesses leveraging

technology to achieve seamless connectivity with Supplier Partners to drive room night production.

2. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE AREAS

1. Recruit, train and monitor the performance of the regional contracting team, in line with the

department’s objectives, procedures and HR guidelines ensuring the highest possible

standards of service towards internal and external customers.

2. Plan and execute the regional contracting strategy for all Land based products and suppliers,

with the support of the Director of Purchasing. Work hand in hand with the product team to

set and deliver the bed brief and highlight all opportunities throughout the region as they

arise.

3. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key contacts across all suppliers in order

to facilitate negotiations and secure the edge over competitors. Maintain excellent

relationships with key stakeholders and represent the department in various stakeholder

meetings.

4. Lead the team in delivering exceptional account management with clear account

development plans for all the leading hotel companies in each market. Manage the day-today

activities of the contracting unit ensuring the business grows its buying power and

provides its customers with competitive conditions.

5. Manage and pro-actively implement the supplier negotiation process at the optimal time to

ensure that required rates, allocations and release periods are agreed, competitive, finalised,

comprehensively loaded and available in accordance with agreed SLAs and briefs with

affiliates. Ensure speed to market and differentiation can be maintained. Assume direct

accountability for room materialization at the assigned selected hotels. Constantly monitor

and manage performance and take necessary action.

6. Support and negotiate alongside the internal customer’s Marketing team to ensure maximum

contribution from suppliers is being raised for each brand’s campaigns.

7. Carry out tenders with core suppliers and DMC to ensure constant competitive commercial

conditions as well as continually high levels of customer service delivery.

8. Manage supplier SLAs and conduct half year reviews to ensure delivery is in line with

expectectation, otherwise conduct identification of issues and resolution thereof.

9. Maximize commercial return on relationships by ensuring highly competitive brochure

contributions and sale overrides are incorporated into the contracting process, working

alongside the Commercial Team where required to optimize revenue and ensure supplier

revenue targets are met. If necessary, re-negotiate these to achieve the best financial gain.

10. Oversee site inspections of existing and new properties to ascertain suitabiilty.

11. Ensure that rates, data and information are loaded into the Contracts system in close

collaboration withthe contract loading teams. Ensure quality control standards and SLA

guidelines are met to minimise errors and provide the Reservations and Finance teams with

accurate data to complete the booking process and correctly invoice clients. Assist account

managers and the individual businesses’ product teams to continuously evaluate market

requirements related to the needs of tactical products (e.g. new destinations, weak periods,

etc.) in order to support the businesses’ objectives and strategies. Support the Product teams

with the delivery of content, images, product awareness and knowledge.

12. Within the Purchasing process, implement the Health and Safety procedures as formalised

by the Company

13. In co-ordination with the technology teams, maintain, review and explore possibilities to

automate business processes, systems and procedures in view of imposing productivity of

Contracting and Reservations units.Facilitate and enhance communication and accessibility

of information with suppliers and clients

14. Manage and oversee the Regional XML and Direct Connectivity relationships to ensure best

rates, inventory and content are available at all times to ensure that we are delivering the

required product to the respective brand managers.
