Job description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our team as an integral part of our service team. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for managing our wine cellar, curating wine lists, and providing wine recommendations to enhance our guests' dining experience. This remote role requires a deep understanding of wines, including their history, varietals, regions, and pairings, as well as a dedication to sharing this knowledge with others.
Responsibilities:
Fully responsible for the wine program
Collaborate closely with the culinary team to create harmonious wine pairings
Provide wine education and recommendations to guests, aiming to enhance their dining experience
Lead consumer-facing marketing events such as "wine of the month" campaigns
Host and speak during wine appreciation events
Conduct staff training sessions on wine knowledge, service techniques, and proper glassware handling
Manage inventory, including upkeeping proper storage conditions, inventory reporting, and handling supplier relations, including purchasing and negotiating prices
Recognized certification will be a plus
Qualifications:
At least 2 to 3 years of working experience as a Sommelier
Strong knowledge of wines, wine regions, grape varietals, and wine service techniques
Well-informed of the latest industry trends and ever-changing wine consumer demands
Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Remote resort experience is a must
Day-to-Day:
As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for managing the wine program, collaborating with the culinary team, providing wine education to guests, leading marketing events, conducting staff training, and managing inventory.
