Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Manager for a remote resort. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, optimize financial performance, drive employee development, deliver a unique guest experience, maintain brand standards, and strengthen the hotel’s presence in the local community. This role will also involve acting as the General Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring financial and operational strategies

  • Offer recommendations for improving hotel assets and fostering brand loyalty

  • Mentor, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to team members

  • Oversee daily operations, set clear performance goals, and support the professional development of team members

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, potential clients, company stakeholders, community leaders, government representatives, travel industry professionals, suppliers, and competitors

  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by upholding quality service and amenities

  • Oversee all sustainability efforts for the resort

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills

  • More than 5 years experience in the relevant department with experience managing international clientele

  • Strong Guest Relations experience

  • Rooms / Front Office / Guest Relations background and foundation

  • Experience in upscale independent boutique resorts in South East Asia

  • Island experience imperative

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma

  • Honest, independent and self-motivated with a high level of luxury service abilities

  • Fully embrace sustainability efforts

  • Remote resort experience a must

  • Knowledge with Wellness preferred

Day-to-day

The Resident Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing daily operations, maintaining guest satisfaction, and fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders. This role will involve mentoring and coaching team members, as well as ensuring the resort's sustainability efforts are upheld.
