The Role
Our client is looking for a Director of People Experience (“DPE”) to oversee all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes for all centres in the country. The DPE is responsible in ensuring the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives to promote corporate values and enable business success through human resources management, including recruitment & selection, engagement, compensation & benefits, performance management and training & development.
This position requires a high level of intellectual rigour and integrity of the highest, and a passion for structure and details. The Director of People Experience enjoys being part of a fast-moving and dynamic team, working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Recruitment & Selection
Partner Country GM, Centre Managers and Head of Departments to identify recruitment needs ie. current vacancies, new roles to be created
Drive employer branding initiatives working closely with the Marketing Team
Ability to look beyond candidate’s profile, into their undiscovered potential
Oversee the talent acquisition process, upholding the integrity of the process and ensures that we are in the position to hire the best talent for our team
Think out of the box to identify sources to talent pool
Build a pipeline of talents in line with expansion plans
Coordinate the experience of our talent acquisition cycle, from scheduling chats between candidates and leaders, offer, maintaining talent bank etc.
Work with Head of Departments to craft job descriptions
Create and post job advertisements on identified platforms
Administer employment requisitions and employment contracts to ensure proper compliance, standards and procedures are met as per the policies and business needs of COMPANY and the country
Onboarding for new team members
Engagement
Representing and living the COMPANY brand and engaging team members
Prepares and executes HR related events for team members in country ie. Townhall, Teambuilding, Orientation, Training etc.
Develop and lead initiatives to reinforce COMPANY culture
Provide feedback on COMPANY’s culture and work with Senior Management to determine actionable steps towards a positive culture
Compensation & Benefits
Conducts groundwork for compensation & benefits such as research for systems, benchmarking exercise etc. for country
Identify, research and propose salary and benefits to be competitive within the market and industry, as well as to ensure consistency within the company policy while maintaining internal equity
Check and track employee claims
Prepares and checks monthly payroll for country before submission to Controller for approval
Process Casual Labour request and payments
Propose annual increment / performance bonus in line with country practices
Employee Relations
Act as the employment legal expert and provide timely advice on matters, following-up with managers to make sure their intervention has been successful and to offer any further assistance needed
Be visible in order for managers and employees to have easy access to assist with employee challenges or concerns
Act as a mediation or escalation point in disputes or formal proceedings
Act as counsel to the business in all employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances and managing absence
Performance Management
Provides guidance and support to country team and leaders in the country
Assists in overseeing confirmation appraisal process
Ensures a structured Performance Appraisal Process is in place and teams in the country are in compliance
Create a roadmap for hi-potential team members to accelerate their development (Talent Management)
Implementation of metrics for team and individual performance and conduct timely reviews on the performance metrics
Learning & Development
Works with all leaders within the country to identify training needs for department and country
Assess training needs to implement Learning and Development programs
Ensures training activities are planned to meet current and future needs
Develops and prepares training plans and monitor accordingly
Change Management
Provide support to the CEO in delivering effective organisational change
Be actively involved in developing current and future business opportunities and ensure that the team has the skill sets to support new markets and growth
Work with the Senior Management team as a coach, challenger, contributor and driver of important decisions
Identify and report on the needs of the business (qualitative and quantitative) considering business growth, attrition and risk
Translate strategy into actionable programmes
Demonstrate positive engagement through HR metrics such as turnover and absence and have plans in place to improve these metrics
The Person
The guru who has been in this/similar role for the past 8 years or more with a proven track record of your success and have demonstrated experience in Human Resource Management
Gets excited about working with numerous people across cultures day to day
Comfortable and is able to work with a team that is spread across locations
Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
Demonstrate integrity, responsibility, and good work ethics
Highly competent in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and adept in tools like Linkedin Recruiter and similar platforms
Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, delegate and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive deadlines
Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude
Able to ace bridging corporate and fast-paced start-up culture
