About the Role
Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and driven (24hrs per week) P/T sales professional with MICE experience for their Australian/NZ outbound travel markets focusing on MICE, Groups and the wedding market. The successful candidate will manage and grow this niche market for all outbound properties, identify new opportunities and provide specific market intelligence to assist outbound properties in marketing and accessing these volume markets.
·Ensure the efficient and effective management of the MICE, group and wedding sales focus to achieve company objectives and operational goals.
·Plan, develop and execute sales plans to provide direction in the outbound MICE, group and wedding markets.
·Develop new and/or improved products to increase the competitiveness and maximize profitability.
·Prepare and present monthly sales reports.
·Provide regular feedback to the Regional DOSM Australia/NZ; VP of S & M APAC and other property specific DOSM’s on marketplace feedback and identify opportunities for the group.
·Undertake regular sales calls with key decision makers and report any leads or business opportunities to the relevant outbound property key contacts.
·Assist in facilitating and attending meetings with the key wedding wholesalers, with property sales personnel or GM’s and the decision maker within these travel companies.Attend and represent the group global portfolio at specific trade events, wedding expos and tourism body promotions.
·Identify the needs for timely adjustment of sales plans and priorities to meet the changing economic and competitive conditions.
·When required provide assistance to the Australian Regional sales team with specific sales and promotional events.
·Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the company by building and maintaining supportive and effective relationships with colleagues, associates and key constituents.
·Attend regular sales meetings within the Australian Outbound sales structure.
·Ensures that all activities within the sales and marketing division are carried out honestly, ethically and always within the parameters of the local laws and regulations.
You will need to have
·2-3 years’ experience working within the MICE or events industries.
·Existing relationships within the MICE market.
·Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients.
·A track record of increasing sales and building business in designated markets.
·Impressive interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and of course - maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
