The Company

Our client is a market leader in Singapore and is fast expanding with multiple award winning concepts and brands located in several locations.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for performing effective risk management, planning the Group’s financial strategy and optimizing the financial performance of the Group including liquidity, cash, investment, inventory management and control. S/he will also be responsible for obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership of Financial Operations and Procurement & Cost Control teams

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the Financial Operations (Finance Control and Accounting) and Procurement teams
  • Establish and conduct strategic review of existing businesses
  • Manage the financial analysis of ongoing business operations and key performance indicators
  • Responsible for ensuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the Group
  • Reviewing all formal finance, procurement, cost control processes and procedures


Budgeting and Reporting

  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Prepare budgets for each business unit and working with relevant stakeholders (eg. Business and department heads such as Group Operations, Human Resources, Marketing) to define budgets
  • Establish and lead business reporting exercises
  • Monitor compliance with external and internal regulations and policies
  • Review business contracts and lease agreements
  • Develop and maintain strong business relations with all suppliers & partners
  • Participate in the design and review of incentives


Treasury and Liquidity management

  • Overseeing and managing the Group’s cash flow and working capital, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory
  • Manage debt and investments, and other liquidity-related decisions


Business Development and Investment Management

  • Overseeing risk-adjusted return on assets and return on capital (or return on equity)
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the Managing Partner and members of the executive management team
  • Provide commercial insight and leadership across the business in order to exceed business plan targets
  • Be part of the executive committee for business development
  • Vet new concepts for financial viability and generate financial modelling to assist in decision-making
  • Feasibility studies and fundraising strategies for new business ventures

The Person

  • Prior experience in a similar senior finance position and preferably from Hospitality, FMCG or similar industry sectors,
  • At least 5 years’ track record of leading a team, driving innovation and transformation within the function
  • In-depth knowledge and application of corporate financial law, risk management practices and forecasting methods
  • Proven ability to strategize, solve complex problems and project manage
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Chartered Public Account (CPA) with academic qualifications in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
