The Company:
A global hotel brand of individual luxury properties which looks to expand into AP aggressively and look for new properties, expanding its footprint in Asia Pacific and nurture its existing properties.
The Role:
This senior Vice President Asia Pacific (VP) role is responsible for leading the region with a focus on expanding the brand reach. Development of relationships with existing member hotels, the travel trade, media and other potential partners.
The Areas of Responsibility include identifying and pursuing of new business opportunities, leading the multi-disciplinary team, sourcing new member hotels to hand over to the Marriott Development Team. Bringing all existing Hotels into the new business model (AM). Overseeing and managing all activities in the areas of sales, marketing and public relations.
The VP reports to the Managing Director and collaborates closely with the Marriott Hotel Development Team for business development, with the SVP Commercial Operations for all travel trade activities and Account Management / Distribution Technology topics, and with the VP Brand, Marketing & Communications for all marketing, brand and communication activities.
Success in the position demands a driving focus on creation of shareholder value through the pursuit of new projects, a proactive disposition, a willingness to champion new business opportunities, an enthusiasm for working on a small, focused team and a passion for the work we do.
The addition of existing hotels into the new business model is one of the principal drivers of DS and an important element in progressing the product quality, distribution power and brand equity of DS.
Goals:
Development and increase of revenue from current member hotel portfolio
Leadership and development of the team in the Region
Management of regional marketing and branding activities
Management of PR & communications activities in the region
Creation of regional tactical promotional opportunities
Establishment of key marketing partnerships
Increase brand awareness within the Region
Portfolio Development / Our parent's company Development Team:
Maintain and develop a strong network of contacts in the local hotel and real estate investment sector;
Identify, initiate, and assess potential owners, investors, developers and branding opportunities;
Conduct global market scanning by tapping into multiple sources of information;
Review and analyze potential hotel conversions and new build opportunities, for integration into our brand;
Review membership applications and evaluate the potential for our client's Hotels
Source potential new member hotels in the Region, and forward to our parent's Company Development Team.
Prepare positioning document for the implementation process
Build and maintain a network database for portfolio development partners such as architects, designers, developers, etc.
Evaluate and analyze regional strategies as well as revenue opportunity for our client and report on changing business trends
Account Management / Sales
Oversee relationships with all existing member hotels and key travel trade partners in the region
Public Relations:
Overlook ongoing PR activities and explore further opportunities and coordinate with our client's European HQ
Marketing:
Implement and pursue the core brand & marketing strategy in coordination with the VP Brand, Marketing & Communications and identify individual market requirements to further expand brand awareness to relevant target groups
Identify events, partners and other opportunities to connect with the right target groups and discuss potential activities with the VP Brand, Marketing & Communications
Preparation of annual marketing and communications plan and coordinate with VP Brand, Marketing & Communications
Grow our client's Hotels Community's responsible region and identify opportunities to further develop the relationship
Strategy & Development:
Prepare the annual budget for the Region
Monitor on competitors as well as Region’s market size, potential and trends, and report to Managing Director on a regular basis
Prepare and manage regional revenue forecasts to ensure revenues are in line with budget and report to Managing Director on a quarterly basis
Prepare and manage regional expenditure budgets and forecasts to ensure costs are in line with budget
Manage costs in line with budget and revenue flows if necessary
Evaluate any other regional/global revenue opportunity for our client's hotels.
Organisation:
Establish and maintain strong relationship with our client's global staff, offices and affiliates
Manage, plan and execute policies and objectives of our client's in the Region
Develop and maintain press and marketing partners as per our client standards
Supervise local accounting processes in line with our clients' standards
Identify all improvements in operational systems, procedures and services, and communicate to Managing Director.
Follow our client's reporting structure and procedures, using predetermined formats as provided by Managing Director.

Manage recruitment of new team members in cooperation with Global HR
10 years+ experience in management and preferably in hospitality
A strong personality, an inspirational leader and strong interpersonal skills on all levels of seniority across cultural areas.
Prepared to travel extensively in the region, meet key OTA's, GDS's and maintain strong relationships with press.
Press savvy and put the brand in the spotlight.
