The Company
Our client is an award-winning, global accommodation supplier working exclusively with the travel trade and is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to be the face of the company in Singapore who can help them build strong relationships with partners to grow existing and new business.
The Role
The right candidate will need to research and deliver a business development plan and grow the region with new partnerships whilst maintaining strong business relationships with existing partners. You will be in continuous contact with travel agents to promote the company, conduct training and obtain feedback to discuss internally.
You will be trusted to take the lead, use initiative, and continue to building the brand. Extensive travel will be required within the sales area and attending conferences within Singapore and internationally.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities;
Promote company to educate partners on the full use of product and website.
Overseeing sales pipeline within your region, ensuring that new business acquisition and existing account development targets are met/exceeded.
Relationship building through proactive and regular interaction with travel agents – sales visits 3-4 times per week, regular follow up telephone calls, webinars, and email.
Build strong product expertise and provide training & ongoing support to partners as required.
Create an effective business development plan and strategy to drive growth for your dedicated region.
Ensure any promotional activity returns a positive ROI in terms of customer engagement and top line sales.
Actively engage with partners to fully understand their business needs, identify, and build new business opportunities.
Develop a strong business relationship with key decision makers and influencers to encourage them to partnership.
Negotiate incentive plans for new or existing key accounts with volume growth potential.
Represent the company at conferences and events.
Accurately report and analyse weekly/monthly/yearly sales data to our customers and disseminate the required data internally.
Be escalation point for partners from region on all sales related issues internally and externally for the partner.
Provide feedback and advocacy on partner pain-points to internal teams. Find solutions as required to ensure smooth running of all interactions.
Carry out ongoing analysis of key competitors, industry, and business trends.
Build effective communications and relationships with colleagues from other offices and departments.
Manage the administration of your expenses and reporting within a timely manner.
Support the Head of Sales and other sales team members with any projects or tasks as directed.
Be focused, proactive and have problem solving mindset to help partners and internal teams.
The Person
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of managing a portfolio of travel clients and exceeding annual sales targets with experience in sales, account management and customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Experience working with travel agencies within Singapore is essential.
Minimum 2 years of experience of Business Development or Account Management.
Knowledge of retail booking systems and tools highly desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and customer satisfaction mindset.
Proficient using MS-Office tools, CRM tools and internet savvy.
Good knowledge of Asia travel market.
Excellent in research and analysis.
